Terms and Conditions
A 30% deposit is required to secure your booking and is due within 5 days of receiving your invoice with the final payment due 7 days before pickup/delivery. Your order is not confirmed until a deposit or full payment has been received.
We must receive the balance by the due date indicated or the contract is null and void and the deposit will not be refunded. Your order cannot be started until the full payment has been received.
By paying your deposit or making full payment you ackonwledge and agree to Sweet Essence terms and conditions.
CANCELLATIONS
We do realise that circumstances may change and if you do need to cancel your order we will work with you for the best outcome possible.
The deposit is non refundable but may be transferred to another date if the order is cancelled 2 weeks out from the due date. Cancellations less than two weeks before the due date may forfeit the deposit depending on the circumstances.
The cost of any customised items that have been purchased on your behalf prior to cancellation and cannot be used for another customer will be taken from the deposit.
All cancellations or order changes must be done in writing via email
CHANGES
Two weeks notice must be given to make any changes to the design. There may be an increase or decrease in the final price depending on the changes and any pre purchased customised items must be paid for in full.
CAKE TRANSPORTATION
All Cakes, Cupcakes, Cookies and Treats are packaged before pickup so they are best protected during transport. The best way to transport cakes is to have the box on a flat surface such as the boot (as long as it is airconditioned during hot weather) or the floor of the car on the front passenger side. Car seats tend to tilt backwards and a passengers lap can also be unstable.
During hot weather, it is also essential that the car is airconditioned and the cake or cupcakes are not left sitting in direct sunlight.
Once the cake has been collected or delivered it is no longer the responsibility of Sweet Essence and it is up to the person transporting the cake to make sure it remains undamaged. If damage does occur however, please contact us and we can discuss the issue. If I am able to fix the cake I will (regardless of fault), however depending on the damage and how it occurred, there may be a fee.
Orders must be picked up at the agreed time, if you need to change this time or are running late please let us know.
If you are running late and cannot arrive before close of business there may be a chance that you will not be able to pick up your order.
Our products may contain or come into contact with milk, wheat, nuts, soy, and other allergens. You agree to notify your guests of this risk and hold us harmless for allergic reactions.
Once the cake has been picked up or delivered Sweet Essence is no longer resposible for any damage that may occur afterwards.
A cake care guide will be provided and we recommend following these guidelines.
If damage does occur however, please contact us and we can discuss the issue. If I am able to fix the cake I will (regardless of fault), however depending on the damage and how it occurred, there may be a fee.
VENUE DELIVERY
I am happy to communicate with the venue directly regarding delivery if necessary, however once the cake has been delivered, a photograph of the cake will be taken and if damage occurs after this point it is the responsibility of the venue and the client. Full written instructions will be left with the cake regarding storage and handling.
If a cake needs to be put together onsite, it means it will generally be hard to move so is best done in its final destination. The table will need to be ready and in an appropriate spot (not sitting outside in direct sunlight on a 40 degree day, in a high traffic area etc).
